Mall marketing manager Rebecca Spaid commented, " Here We GROW Again is our theme for 2006 as construction gives Tanglewood Mall a facelift. Kroger, an outparcel, finished renovating its interior and exterior its new front was meant to "better highlight the company's selection of fresh foods." The renovations were also in anticipation of a Ukrops opening in 2007 a short distance away. On 18 September 2006, Chick-fil-A held its grand-reopening in a new location on the upper level, after a soft reopening on 16 September. The few tenants that had remained in the food court, including Chick-Fil-A, have since re-located within the mall. Maxx space and the virtually empty food court, as well as several storefronts. Steve and Barry's opened in October 2006, occupying approximately 48,000 square feet (4,500 m 2) on the second level, which includes the second level of the former T.J. In 2013, Furniture Warehouse moved into the former original Stein Mart location. The third "box", the only one that opened into the mall corridor, was vacant until Stein Mart moved in. Nearby in-line space was also converted to two more junior anchors, one of which was Staples. Maxx renovated the former Brendle's space and relocated in April. According to mall marketing manager Rebecca Spaid, the mall was reconfigured to make space for several new tenants, as well as refreshing the appearance of the mall's interior and exterior. The mall began renovations and construction in 2005, a process that continued until 2007. On August 12, 2020, it was announced that Stein Mart would close this location as the chain is closing all locations. Michaels bought the A.C.Moore space a few days after A.C. In 1998, a 10-screen outparcel cinema opened. Goody's Family Clothing was added in 1995 in the former French Quarter space, and Stein Mart joined the same year. Miller & Rhoads closed in 1989, with its space being subdivided among smaller stores. The interior was renovated in 1985 following the opening of Valley View Mall, which swept away much of the 1970s-style decorative details, replacing them with softer colors and Mediterranean tile, as well as a passenger elevator. Another notable feature of the mall was the French Quarter, which was designed to look like a French village, with boutiques including a gourmet market and restaurant, DJ's Brasserie. Woolco closed its Tanglewood location in 1983, and the space was renovated to create a Brendle's catalog showroom, along with T. The lower level became small shop space, with the former Murphy's escalator added to the mall common area. Following this departure, its upper level was reconfigured into a food court. Flip the panel again and it shows a digital display screen of the sort nearly every car has these days. But at the press of a button, the panel can flip around to show three old-fashioned dials, including a compass. One side is “blank,” looking like the rest of the dashboard. The Bacalar has a three-sided rotating panel in the dashboard, a feature also available in other Bentley models, including the Continental GT. Its water is famous for its shimmering color. The analog clock in the center of the dashboard is light blue, the hue of Lake Bacalar in Mexico’s Yucatán Peninsula. The wood trim comes from a tree that fell 5,000 years ago into a wetland and was preserved there in a process that also stained it nearly black. While I waited for my chance to drive, I familiarized myself with the Bacalar’s unique interior. And, for good measure, he pressed the gas pedal hard a few times, eliciting brutal acceleration and a sonorous rumble from the huge engine. Fortunately, while heavy clouds remained, the rain had stopped. Hannig told me about the car as he drove us out to a roadside overlook by the Pacific Ocean. The Bacalar's interior includes wood that's been naturally aged for 5,000 years. At about 5,300 pounds, it’s not exactly lithe, though, weighing more than a full-size Mercedes luxury sedan. All of this has also helped lower the car’s center of gravity, which improves handling around curves. Dispensing with the roof and backseats also saved weight. But the Bacalar is a couple of hundred pounds lighter, thanks to a body that’s made mostly out of expensive carbon fiber. Even though its body is wholly different, the Bacalar shares much of its basic parts with a Bentley Continental GT, specifically the high performance GTC Speed model. Performance was not entirely left out of engineering considerations, of course. With its smooth ride, comfortable seats and ample trunk space, the Bacalar is designed to be the sort of car one might drive every day, even though one probably will not. (Both are owned by the Volkswagen Group.) Customers who want that sort of thing can shop at Bentley’s sister-brand Lamborghini. The all-wheel-drive Bacalar has a turbocharged 650-horsepower 12-cylinder engine, but it is not intended to be a street-shredding high-performance sports car. It had been painted white for testing so any potential cracks or flaws in the body would show more easily, and had only recently been repainted a deep ocean green. “Car Zero,” as was rather garishly lettered on the side, is the prototype Bacalar, and Bentley has no plans to sell it. No one could give an exact price for the Bacalar that I was driving because it was literally, priceless. This may impact cost savings and could mean prices change before your Pod Point is installed, depending on available/chosen installation dates. This tariff is variable, meaning prices could change. The benefit of this tariff will depend on when your household energy usage occurs, when and where you charge your car, changes to wholesale energy prices and any future energy price cap changes. Calculations are based on using a 7kWh home charger and charging within daily 5 hour off peak window (12am-5am during winter GMT and 1am-6am during Summer BST), slower charging speeds may result in charging outside of the off peak window and will increase cost. People are stung by these fish mostly on the feet when they come across them accidentally while walking across reef flats or in rocky areas. It’s contained in a series of long spines along the back, each with two glands at the base that pump venom up along a hollow duct in each spine. The venom in stonefish is not for use against prey, but instead against their own potential predators. They have large mouths that open widely and particularly powerful jaws, and together these two features usually allow them to swallow any prey whole. Then they will move with lightning-fast reflexes to snatch and swallow prey. The Stonewall Attack– White quickly plays f2-f4, looking for a total bind on the dark squares. The Torre Attack – Similar to the London System, but the dark bishop goes to g5. The Colle-Zukertort System – Similar to the London System, but the dark bishop goes to b2 instead The Colle System – Similar to the London System, but without playing Bf4 That said, System openings remain popular at all levels of chess. It’s crucial to learn how to handle and calculate tactics! These openings are almost completely devoid of any early tactics, threats, or pawn tension.Playing the same several moves to begin every game isn’t a good way to broaden your chess horizons and learn to play multiple types of positions. And despite the tempting option to forego opening memorization altogether and play a System Opening with white, I don’t recommend these openings for beginners, for two main reasons: Many of these System openings aren’t the most ambitious try for a big advantage with white, to say the least. White can play these same eight moves against almost anything black throws at them! White develops their dark-squared bishop to f4 before putting playing e3, c3, and finishing development: The Queen’s Pawn Opening is somewhat unique in that White can play some of these systems almost without regard to what black does in the meantime, thanks to the heavily defended queen’s pawn in the center.įor example, let’s consider the London System – perhaps the most popular of these “System” openings. If white doesn’t want to create early central pawn tension by playing the aforementioned Queen’s Gambit, there are a variety of setups to choose from. Black often declines the sacrifice, and the white c-pawn is allowed to remain standing strong in the center of the board. These two factors combine to make the Queen’s Gambit the most popular pawn sacrifice in all of chess opening theory. White will often end up getting their pawn back. After white moves the e-pawn, white’s light-squared bishop will be attacking this pawn, and it’s not very easy to defend. Now or later, white will likely be able e4 if he so desires. Black’s pawn has lost its control over the center.Want to take your chess openings BEYOND the basics? Black does not play the move 1…d5 and seeks to contest the center by other means.Black places their own Queen’s Pawn in the center with 1…d5, equalizing control of the center.I’m going to break them down into two broad categories: Many distinct opening systems can arise from the Queen’s Pawn Opening. Many opening systems under the umbrella of Queen’s Pawn Openings are defined more by their ideas than by specific move orders – though that’s not to say that sharp, precise variations don’t exist! This tends to afford each player a higher degree of flexibility than can be seen in a King’s Pawn opening. In contrast with the King’s Pawn Opening, the Queen’s Pawn is already defended (by the queen) upon its arrival in the center of the board, so any threat to this pawn doesn’t necessarily have to be immediately addressed. It presupposes an apology of rebellion, a condemnation of the former authority in the name of the supposed divine enlightenment (the confession), destroys tradition, and betrays the merit of man in the establishment of social order and history.ĭevotional commentary on the Book of Job Fresh thinking in commentary writing with original texts, their translations, their variants identified and discussed, interpretation of what it meant and what it means. Sacrifice forgets that the end does not justify the means. The conquest of authority through sacrifice does not reveal evil and is destroyed by the inexorable revenge of the earth. In my opinion, the Satan of the first audience refers to Persian Manichaeism, but the Satan of the second hearing criticizes the Maquiavellism of Greek philosophy. The Book of Job personifies, unveils and criticizes Manichaeism. He condemns authority or himself for ideal reasons, without identifying an imputable damage. He despises the merit of fathers, kings, and foreign servants also his own merit and efforts to build a fairer social order. By cursing authority or by cursing himself, Job uproots himself from his origins. Satan presupposes a world of servants, who must assume and confess their guilt as a means of redemption. The first three cover-ups correspond to the discussion and refutation of the arguments of the three friends and the unveiling of the fourth facade, to the awareness of Elihu’s impertinence after listening to the theophanies. Satan represents the rebellious Job who blames divine justice by indicting foreign idealism (first disguise), foreign kings (second disguise), foreign servants (third disguise), or himself without knowing why (fourth costume). Satan is a nightmare of Job, who imagines that bloodthirsty or false idealism can exist and challenge divinity. Job affirms a social indeterminate and generic guilt to circumvent his unconscious and collective responsibility. A conclusion is reached in the epilogue: Satan is Job in disguise. Satan implements the triumph of divinity by condemning man and invents a gruelling divinity that achieves the social order by punishment. The doctrine that finally institutionalizes the Jewish canon, after centuries of discussions, is based directly on the debates of the Book of Job, and particularly on determining Job’s guilt as personal liability, not as a collective damnation Does Satan exist? Does Divine purpose for creation include any role for evil? Satan accuses divinity of a creation with a manufacturing defect and assumes that man is required to help fix the problem. The prophets, particularly Isaiah and Jeremiah, blame Israel for a collective sin, which seems to be identified with unjustified sacrifice. The origins of the Book of Job might correspond to the crisis of priestly and prophetic religion. I think that the Book of Job must be interpreted in his historicity. The history of Job has no concern with idols, like the Pentateuch or the historical books nor is alarmed with the dangers of foreign women, as in the rebuilding of the second temple. The Book of Job poses a critical reflection on Jewish sacrificial history, and raises the debate on the personal responsibility for the collective disorder. In my opinion, the Book of Job rationalises Abraham's sacrifice and casts doubts on a religion based on sacrifice. Job protests against divine injustice by arguing that divinity has no right to require the sacrifice of a son, to increase his virtue through suffering, or to imply that suffering is a sign of virtue. Job rebels against an arrogant divinity who wagers with Satan and unfairly denies him progeny and riches. |
